  • Ethiopian coffee is categorized into washed (wet-processed) and unwashed (dry-processed) coffee.
  • Coffee grading is based on defect count, size, and cup quality. The Ethiopian coffee grading system ranges from Grade 1 (highest quality) to Grade 5. Our specialities, Grades 1 and 2 are specialty coffees with minimal defects and superior taste profiles​.
  • Quality control includes moisture level testing (ideal range: 9.5%-12%), screening for bean size, odor inspection, and cupping tests to ensure the coffee meets export standards​. Our laboratory ensures that, our export coffee is to the highest quality standards and client needs.
  • Our coffee is processed using washed and natural methods. The washed process enhances acidity and clarity, while the natural process gives a fruity and full-bodied flavor. After processing, the coffee is dried, stored, hulled, graded, and prepared for export​.
  • Altitude, rainfall, temperature, and soil composition play crucial roles in coffee production. Ethiopia’s diverse coffee-growing regions range from 1,300 to 2,000 meters above sea level, with ideal temperatures between 15-25°C​.
  • Coffee accounts for over 35-40% of Ethiopia’s foreign exchange earnings. It supports over 700,000 smallholder farming households and provides livelihoods for more than 25 million Ethiopians​. we source our coffee from farms directly, supporting small holder farmers in the process.
  • Our coffee is stored in well-ventilated warehouses on wooden panels to prevent moisture absorption. Proper storage in parchment form helps maintain consistent moisture levels and enhance the cup profile​.
  • Common payment methods include Letters of Credit (L/C) and bank transfers. Buyers typically negotiate payment terms with us before shipment.
  • Shipping time depends on the destination and logistics providers. Generally, it takes 4-8 weeks to deliver Ethiopian coffee to key markets in Europe, the U.S., and Asia.
  • Buyers should work with registered Ethiopian exporters and may request certificates of origin and quality assurance documents from regulatory bodies.
